Dr. Timothy F. Edwards

Dr. Edwards graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1970, and attended undergraduate school at UNC Chapel Hill. After graduating in 1978 from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Dr. Edwards did his residency at Duke University. Upon completion, he joined Women’s Healthcare Associates in Jacksonville, North Carolina as a General OBGYN. Dr. Edwards is board certified with the American Board of OBGYN. His career accomplishments and awards include: 1985 Onslow Memorial Chief of Staff, 1994 President of Wake Forest University School of Medicine Medical Alumni Association. He resides in Jacksonville with his wife Susan and family.

Dr. Nicole A. Hagedorn

Dr. Hagedorn is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has been a practicing OBGYN since 1998. Her special interest is in Hormone Imbalance and Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy. Accomplishments include: American Board of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOOG), 2001 American Board of Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine (ABAARM) 2007, and the American College of Anti-Aging Sports Medicine Professionals (ACASP) in 2007. She and her husband David Hagedorn, Ph.D., BCIA-EEG who is employed at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital as a clinical psychologist and instructor with Family Medicine resides with their children in Jacksonville.

Dr. Lissette E. Machin

Dr. Machin is a graduate of Princeton University and attended Princeton University Medical School and New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. She completed her residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, New York. She then joined Mount Sinai Medical Center, and in 2008, joined Women’s Healthcare Associates. She resides in Jacksonville with her family.

Dr. Damain A. Smith

Dr. Smith attended Ohio State University and graduated in 1988 with a BS in Biological Science as Cum Laude. He stayed at Ohio State and graduated from their School of Medicine in 1992. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in 1996 and went on to MacDill Air Force Base to begin practicing. Dr. Smith was Board Certified in 1998, and in 1999 joined the Smith Clinic in Marion, Ohio. In 2000, he became a Fellow of ACOG, and in 2007 joined Women's Healthcare Associates. He and his wife Dr. Carol Maruna Smith, reside in Jacksonville.

Dr. Tiffani M. Middleton

Dr. Middleton is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Columbia Campus and the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her residency at Franklin Square Hospital Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She joined Women’s Healthcare Associates and is a Board Eligible Obstetrics and Gynecology physician. Her accomplishments include the 2005 and 2006 William Scott Taylor, M.D. Award for Professionalism and first place award for the Nagey Symposium Research Presentation (Baltimore, MD) 2008. She resides in Jacksonville.

Ailsa C. Emmel, CNM

Ailsa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida, and a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami. Prior to working with Women's Healthcare Associates, Ailsa was a Labor and Delivery Nurse and served in the Navy as a nurse from 1999 until 2003. Her recognitions include: BLS, ACLS, and NRP Instructor. She resides in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Peggy L. Jones, CNM,RN,MSN,LCCE

Peggy is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Masters of Science in Nursing. She has been a Certified Nurse Midwife for the past 10 years in Jacksonville. Prior to this she was a Psychiatric Nurse, a Public Health Nurse, and a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Her career accomplishments include Vice Chair RN Unit Riverside County, California;  President Elect Southern California Public Health Nurse Association; inducted into Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society; and was recognized as one of  The Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina in 2000. In addition to her midwifery position with Women’s Healthcare Associates, she is a Clinical Instructor for University of North Carolina at Wilmington and teaches Lamaze classes for the Onlsow County Health Department. She and her family reside in Duplin County.

Amy Wynn, CNM

Amy, a native of Eastern North Carolina, graduated from West Carteret High School in 1993 and attended Coastal Carolina Community College. She subsequently received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from East Carolina University and completed her masters at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2009.  Ms. Wynn then moved back home and joined Women's Healthcare Associates. She resides with her family in Emerald Isle, North Carolina.

Elizabeth Wolf, MD

Dr. Wolf completed her undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University in 1991 and graduated from Hanemann University Medical School in 1996.  She completed her Residency Training at Indiana University.  Upon completion in 2000 she began practicing OBGYN in Charlotte, NC. before briefly moving back to Indiana.  Dr. Wolf is Board Certified with the American Board of OBGYN.  She has completed several specialty surgical courses for minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Wolf is now excited to join Women's Healthcare Associates. She resides in Jacksonville, NC with her family.

Jennifer Neilsen, MD

Dr. Neilsen is a graduate of University of Michigan Medical School in 1993.  She completed her Family Practice residency at David Grant Medical Center in California.  Dr Neilsen was an active duty Air Force Family Practitioner at Dyess AFB, Texas.  She completed her second residency inObstetrics and Gynecology at ECU School of Medicine in 2006.  Upon completion she began practicing OBGYN in Williamston, North Carolina.  Dr. Neilsen is Board Certified with the American Board of OBGYN.  Her career accomplishments include 2010 Martin General Hospital Chief of Surgery.  Dr. Neilsen is excited to join Women's Healthcare Associates.  She and her family reside in Jacksonville, NC.

Mary Elizabeth Koho, MSN, CNM, WHNP

After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia, Mary Beth spent 10 years practicing as a labor and delivery nurse, with a focus on high-risk pregnancy.  She completed her fellowship in nursing research at Yale-New Haven, and earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.  Prior to working at Women's Healthcare Associates she completed her training at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Howard County, MD.  Mary Beth is licensed as both Certified Nurse-Midwife and a Woman's Health Nurse Practioner.  In 2009 she had the honor of working with former Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona on the prevention of late-preterm births in the U.S.  Mary Beth resides in Jacksonville with her family.

Amanda O Ricker, CNM

Amanda has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.  She received her Masters in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL and a Post-Masters in Midwifery from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Prior to practicing Midwifery, Amanda worked as a Labor & Delivery Registerd Nurse and a Emergency Room Registered Nurse iin South Florida. She resides in Surf City with her family.

 

Kelly D. Watts, CNM

Kelly is a graduate of the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing with a Master's Degree in Midwifery.  She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at Eastern Kentucky State University.  Prior to becoming a midwife Kelly worked in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and Labor & Delivery as a Registerd Nurse.  Her special interest include Women's Health and breastfeeding support. Before her nursing career she served in the Navy on active duty from 1998-2001. She resides in Jacksonville with her family.
